Cross Roads House held its annual Leadership and Legacy Society Reception on October 23, 2019, at Tuscan Kitchen in Portsmouth. The annual event is an opportunity for the Cross Roads House Board of Directors and staff to personally recognize and thank society members for their generous support of the shelter. This year, nearly 80 donors were in attendance.
The Leadership Society recognizes donors who have contributed $1,000 or more in the last fiscal year. Legacy Society members have included support of Cross Roads House as part of their estate plan.
During the reception, Dr. Bob Bear spoke about his support of Cross Roads House. Bear is not only a member of the Leadership Society, he is also a volunteer, regularly preparing dinner for shelter residents. Bear said, “It’s remarkable how vulnerable so many people are. It’s great to be there when somebody needs it.”
Executive Director Martha Stone presented an update on the past year’s activities at the shelter and a preview of the year to come. Stone thanked the Leadership and Legacy Society Donors for their unwavering support, noting, “We know you have many choices when deciding which area nonprofits to support. From the bottom of my heart, I would like to express how grateful we are that you have chosen Cross Roads House.”
It was wonderful to see all who were able to attend. We are so grateful for the amazing support our Leadership Society and Legacy Society continue to provide.
