Since 1982, Cross Roads House has provided emergency shelter and supportive services that make a profound impact in the lives of men, women, and children experiencing homelessness in the Greater Seacoast area.
Located in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, Cross Roads House provides safe emergency and transitional shelter for families and individuals experiencing homelessness. As one of the largest homeless shelters in the state, we serve hundreds of people annually. We provide our residents with safe shelter, nutritious meals, basic needs, 24/7 on-site direct care staff, individualized case management, and the supportive services needed to find permanent housing.

Current Openings
Housing Liaison (Full Time)
This position is responsible for developing a working network of property owner and property management partners in order to match individuals and families served by Cross Roads House with affordable and sustainable housing. The Housing Liaison will serve as an expert in the housing market and in landlord relationships with Cross Roads House. The position includes representing CRH with housing-related community organizations and networks and helping to develop marketing information for landlord recruitment.

Custodian/Janitor (Part Time)
Perform custodial duties such as cleaning and maintaining the cleanliness of assigned areas across the shelter. Duties would include but not be limited to:
- Sweep & mop polish floors
- Dust and clean/polish furniture and fixtures
- Clean and sanitize restrooms and replenish supplies
- Empty trash receptacles and dispose of waste properly
- Perform floor care tasks such as buffing, and polishing
- Assist with facilities maintenance tasks as needed

Direct Service Staff (Full or Part Time)
Direct Service Staff assist in the daily operations of Cross Roads House in a professional and hospitable manner. Tasks include answering phones, greeting residents, volunteers, donors, and guests, responding to resident needs, overseeing resident tasks and chores, and working collaboratively with all shelter staff to provide safe emergency shelter and supportive services for people in our community who are experiencing homelessness.
