How To Help Cross Roads House – UPDATED March 27, 2020

By Jessica Parker

PLEASE NOTE: Due to the “Stay At Home” order enacted by Governor Chris Sununu, this post was updated on March 27, 2020 to include new guidelines for donating and volunteering.

Dear Friends,

In times of crisis communities customarily pull together, providing support and comfort for one another. The COVID-19 outbreak is forcing all of us to rethink the best way to do this, as we are being asked to stay at home and limit social interaction with people outside our households.

This afternoon, Governor Chris Sununu enacted a “Stay At Home” order in the state of New Hampshire until May 4, 2020. In light of this order, it is with a heavy heart that we are asking that for the time being, people no longer come into the shelter to drop off donations or volunteer. This was an incredibly difficult decision, as we rely on the generosity of our donors and volunteers to meet the needs of the 100+ people we serve every day, and we greatly appreciate the contributions they make. Fortunately, an area business has stepped forward to provide lunch and dinner meals for our residents, so rest assured we will continue to provide nourishing meals at this time.

We are still in dire need of assistance.

You can still make an impact in the lives of the homeless families and individuals who are staying at Cross Roads House in the following ways:

  • Make A Donation – We need your help to ensure we can continue serving some of our most vulnerable neighbors. If you are able, click here to make a donation today. The gift you give today will make a tremendous difference for the families and individuals who rely on Cross Roads House to make it through this difficult period. For more information about making a donation, contact Jessica Parker, Development Director, at j.parker@crossroadshouse.org, or 603.436.2218, ext. 112.
  • Shop Online for Wish List Items – If you are interested in providing items from our wish list, you can shop our Amazon Wish List from the comfort of your home and have items shipped directly to the shelter. For more information or to inquire about the shelter’s current needs, contact Kristina Siegenthaler, Volunteer Coordinator, at k.siegenthaler@crossroadshouse.org or 603.436.2218, ext. 107.
  • Volunteer To Deliver Prepared Meals to Cross Roads House – We are so grateful that we have found a local business who has graciously offered to prepare our dinner meals offsite. Volunteers are needed to pick up meals at this business, and deliver them to the shelter. For more information about this volunteer opportunity, contact Kristina Siegenthaler, Volunteer Coordinator, at k.siegenthaler@crossroadshouse.org or 603.436.2218, ext. 107.

Thank you again for your continued support. We will get through this together!

Sincerely,

Martha Stone
Executive Director
