Cross Roads House is thrilled to announce that The One Hundred Club of Portsmouth is donating $30,000 and will serve as the “Lead Sponsor” of this year’s 19th Annual Benefit by the Sea, which will be held virtually on Saturday, April 17, 2021. This is the largest sponsorship commitment in the event’s 19-year history.

“We are so grateful for this extraordinarily generous gift from The One Hundred Club,” said Martha Stone, Cross Roads House Executive Director. “The One Hundred Club has always been a great supporter of the work that we do at Cross Roads House, and this year’s sponsorship shows just how committed they are to helping some of the most vulnerable people in our community.”

Each year Cross Roads House must raise over $1 million in operating revenue from private donors. The Benefit by the Sea is the shelter’s only annual fundraising event and brings in nearly 1/3rd of the funds that must be raised every year.

“We’re proud to be a supporter of Cross Roads House,” said Neil Gibb, Proprietor of The One Hundred Club. “Now, more than ever, people need access to emergency shelter and help getting back into a home of their own. It is so heartwarming to think that our support will be able to make an impact in the lives of so many people and will help Cross Roads House do this very important work in our community.”

Contributions to this year’s Virtual Benefit by the Sea will provide funding for critical shelter, food, and supportive services for men, women, and children from Eastern Rockingham and Strafford Counties in NH and Southern York County, ME who are experiencing homelessness. Cross Roads House is open and staffed 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Their mission is to provide for the immediate needs of homeless families and individuals, and to provide them with the tools and guidance they need to return to permanent housing.

Last year, Cross Roads House served 364 individual clients, 62 of them children from 30 families from the local area. The One Hundred Club is a private, member-supported social and dining club that has been entertaining the Seacoast leaders in business and community for almost two decades.
